Starting and ending in Marrakesh, I spent my winte

Starting and ending in Marrakesh, I spent my winter around Essaouira, Imsouane and other secret spots in Morocco. While I didn’t get in a ton of writing, I did manage to get in some kitesurfing, surfing and visiting some of my favourite and new spots in Morocco. In between an ankle injury, physio, running, reading, shooting, working, relaxing and eating well I was reminded why Morocco was the place I fell in love with surfing and altered my life to surround myself with it. Grateful to get in a ton of sun and waves this winter. With fresh inspiration to write about…some new ideas and maybe even a travel guide to share! Stay tuned!

After a long delay, it has been so wonderful to come back to surf and continue learning to Kitesurf in Essaouira, Morocco. A place I still consider home.

This trip has brought many emotions along with it, as I have many wonderful memories of this city along with some challenging ones. The Essaouira vortex as I call it, the ability to suck you it in with its charm, spin you around in some adventures and spit you out only leaving you to come back for more. But it is the people; the locals, the tourists, the entrepreneurs, the expats...a blend of chaos finding community.

I love walking the quiet calm streets of the city while the sun rises or walking through the Medina.

Looking forward to spend some quiet time between work and play to write more, shoot more, surf more and do a few updates to the blog.

It is always wonderful to see the power of people coming together to help those in need. An update from the organizers for the hurricane relief for Sayulita. They have paused the donations until they have planned the responsible allocation of the donations but have already used some funds to help with providing hygiene products, sleeping arrangements and the basics to those in need. Wishing the community of Sayulita a quick recovery!

I really enjoyed my trip to Sayulita last year this month. I had great food and surfing with wonderful people and kind locals. The recent hurricane Roslyn has left many families and people without their basic needs. Please consider helping with a small donation. A few from last winter’s surf trip memories on the Pacific coast. But I packed my favorites to keep me clean and well protected against the sun with @manda and @rawelementsusa so I could relax post surf with a beer smelling fresh with @surf_soap. Those are my favorite eco friendly products I take to the beach, the boat, mountains…wherever my adventures take me. Knowing I can trust brands who care about the environment as much as I do!
